RHensley1

Hello, I'm Robert Hensley.

I am an award-winning creative, splitting my time between Southern California and Southwestern Pennsylvania. Over the last 25 years, my career has been focused on the entertainment industry, working as an Emmy-nominated makeup artist, producer, writer, and indie filmmaker.

Several years ago, while dealing with an injury, I found sound therapy and meditation, eventually becoming a certified sound therapist and meditation leader, specializing in Elemental Meditation practice and personal rewilding.

I offer one-on-one coaching, teach classes, and lead retreats with the mission to help people reclaim and rekindle their relationship with Nature.

My Mission:

To help others understand, appreciate, and honor their innate connection to the natural world and everything in it through Nature immersion, meditation practices, and keeping a journal.

At this critical time as a society that has promoted materialism and personal wealth, and pushed for a disconnection from Nature, it has become imperative that man - the human race - is in desperate need of rekindling their relationship with nature.  Our physical and mental health depends on it.

Science has proven the necessity for man's connection to Nature.

Nature - the original gateway drug...

There is an increasing amount of research being done regarding the beneficial effects of Nature immersion - spending time in green space (forests and plains) and blue space (aquatic landscapes).  The studies focus on what affect exposure to the natural world has on health, reducing stress and promoting healing.

The evidence from these studies has shown that 2 hours each week spent in Nature is an antidote for stress; it can lower blood pressure and stress hormone levels, reduce nervous system arousal, enhance immune system function, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and improve mood - similar benefits to those of regular meditation.

Those diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder and aggression were seen to have symptoms lessen in natural environments, and psychiatric researchers found that being in Nature reduced feelings of isolation, promoted calm, and lifted mood among patients.

Additionally, new research has also shown that natural aerosols from trees can help speed the rate of healing by activating NK (Natural Killer) cells - the cells in our immune systems that fight infections and destroy tumors.
