LOCAL ARTISTS CELEBRATING A PROUD HISTORY OF REBELLION
Our Mission
CUT, PASTE, REBEL has brought together local artists: photographers, writers, designers from across Fayette County to take part in a guerilla placemaking project: creating photo essays and publishing zines. Upholding a local tradition of guerilla placemaking, their talent, skills, and willingness to learn a new media format have been utilized to give their corners of Fayette County a voice. The National Road Heritage Corridor was able to arm them with grant funding, a public gallery exhibition, and professional mentor support in this endeavor.
Remember that Pennsylvania was built on ink, paper, and dissent. Fayette County played a role in the shaping of our nation! Guerrilla placemaking through photo essays and zines isn’t just contemporary art practice—it’s an inheritance.

What is a movement without a manifesto?
When this group of artists came together, it was for a singular cause: to create art that honored our local history, gave a voice to our communities, inspired local pride in our neighbors, and invited visitors to Fayette County to look beyond just what they see advertised!
